Usos retains WWE Tag Team Titles on SmackDown, Shinsuke Nakamura may be injured

The Undisputed WWE Champion The Usos put their championships on the line against Riddle and Shinsuke Nakamura, the team built from previous rounds with The Bloodline. In the past, the Usos had a role in taking down Nakamura’s partner Boogs and fellow RK-Bro from Riddle’s Randy Orton, and now they have a chance to reclaim the Tag Team title. Unfortunately in the middle of the match, Nakamura would find himself injured and would have to leave the match, leaving Riddle alone. Somehow he stayed in the fight and nearly won a few times, but some interference from Sami Zayn resulted in Usos holding on.

Jey and Nakamura started the match and Nakamura was pitted against Jey, then he was flagged into the Riddle. They combined for several kicks and then Riddell hit a suplex on J and went for cover, but was thrown out. The forearms follow but then Jimmy tags him and slams Riddle down. Jimmy stomped on Riddle’s back and then went for the cover but Riddle was sent off. Jimmy stopped Riddle by holding him but Riddle hit the side of his head to buy him some space.

Jimmy and Riddle were tagged in their partners and Nakamura grabbed Jie with a circular punch. More kicks followed on Jey in the corner and then he picked him up and put him in front. Nakamura hit a knee in the midsection and went for cover but Jay kicked. Nakamura grabbed Jie again and then hit him in the back, marking Riddle, who went for cover but Jay was kicked out.

Jimmy ended up interfering and knocking Riddle off the outside but Nakamura broke the ensuing cap. Then Nakamura sent Jey to the steel steps and then ended up pushing his knee to the steps. Ji kicked Nakamura in the back of the knee and appeared injured. The coaches came and helped Nakamura out while Riddle walked with him. Riddle then came back and chased after both Usos, clearing the ring and hitting them both out.

The match went on but it became a 2v1 match and Riddle kept fighting, but Jimmy knocked him out long enough to go for cover. Riddle kicked and Jay was flagged, both sending him back into the opposite rope. Jey and Jimmy celebrated a bit and then Jey mocked Randy Orton, but Riddle hit a huge knee kick on Jey, bringing him down. J crawled up to Jimmy and got the card but Riddle also brought it back with a series of punches and kicks. Riddle Ethen hit a knee kick on Jey and attacked both Usos on opposite sides of the ring. A suplex hunter followed him on Jey and Jimmy and then hit the Twin Setons on them, removing the ring again.

Riddle had Jimmy warmed up for DDT and Riddle hit a running knee on J and then landed on both Usos after jumping off the ropes. He rolled Jimmy and power slammed him, then went for the Orton DDT brand. Hit him but he didn’t go for cover. Instead, he praised Orton’s commercial move and RKO, and he nearly won, but Jimmy eventually kicked the ball. Jimmy then covered him and kicked out Riddle before counting 3. Jimmy climbed to the top but Riddle met him there, only to hit Roman’s music. Riddle knocked Jimmy down by RKO but wasn’t the active guy, and Jey came down and slammed Riddle for the pin and the win.

It also turns out that it wasn’t Roman Reigns going out to the ring, but Sami Zayn fiddling with the controls in the back, and Usos can credit his victory. Riddle noticed that he was being celebrated by the Usos and attacked him to close SmackDown.
